Holbein Artist Pencils are considered one of the best pencils in the world, alongside Caran D'Ache's Luminance. They are very creamy pencils with high coverage pigment on any type of paper.

Each pencil has an extremely soft, buttery feel with vibrant color output. Holbein uses high quality pigments that exhibit little fading or discoloration from light. The mixture of premium oils, waxes and pigments results in a very thick, vivid and permanent layer of color.

The Holbein Artists Pencil has a comfortable 7.8mm round barrel with a thick 3.8mm core, giving artists the ability to apply a lot of color at once. The pencils are pre-sharpened and require the use of a good quality sharpener due to their softness. It is this softness and richness of color that makes them very good for colored work or for highlighting aspects of a design that you want to highlight.
