Canson 1557 paper is an acid-free paper with a smooth grain, mainly adapted for studies, sketches and drawing. It is 100% alphacellulose, without any wood fiber, gelatinized in mass, can withstand repeated corrections without wrinkling and stands out for its pure white. Ideal for graphite, charcoal and pastel pencils and pens. Information: Mass gluing is a Canson invention. In 1827 Barthélémy de Canson developed a mass gluing process, for which a patent was issued. The paper resulting from this process is waterproof, odorless and easier to maintain.
